Just installed QA not too long ago. It's playing any MP3 linked from websites, instead of Winamp. Even if I copy and past the MP3 URL to Winamp, it won't play. QA is set to not play MP3 and Winamp is set to play MP3, in their settings. What's happening?
Winamp plays MP3s on my PC fine.

That's an odd one, I use QA and have had no problem(s) with it, certainly not what you're describing. Where did you get your copy of QA, and what browser do you use?

Using IE 6. I got QA (w/ MPC) from here. Also forgot to mention that QA's 'Notify me if another program changes these associations' is not checked. Strange thing is in QA after installing, none of the file types are checked, even for MOV, though MOV works just fine, both online and locally. I tried selecting just MOV but that didn't fix anything. Neither did re-installing/upgrading to the latest QA.

Could you make sure the same thing doesn't happen to you with these clips?

BTW, how is Real Alternative? I was gonna install it but wanted to try to remove all traces of UnRealOne first.

Dunno, I download audio & video clips when possible so that I can peruse them at my leisure, but I'd suggest trying another browser - FireFox is a good free one, and Opera is free now as well. There are plenty of good reasons for this, your problem streaming multimedia may be simply one more reason.

Cliffs: When in doubt, blame IE.

Real Alternative seems to work great. I've used it for over a year or more. It works with the old classic Media Player 6.4. I will not subject my machine to Real Audio again (and I do not download their file types unless that's the only one available).
