Quicktime 6 released

OK... I notice no new features, no changes in interface...

[edit] Oh, I see. They added MPEG4 and some other assorted crap. Yea, I'm really gonna use QuickTime for all my MPEG4 needs. No thanks, I like to watch my video files full screen.

Stupid bull$hit program now uses 100% CPU on my P-4 1.7Ghz just to scale a video to double size. It stutters in full screen mode and doesn't seem to be using overlay. There is absolutely no damn support on their ridiculous website. I thought I hated M$ but these guys really take their users for granted.

I considered buying a MAC recently and I looked at their ridiculous warranty and pricing and felt that they just take their predominantly fanboy customer base for granted - because they can. Maybe if some of the Mac fanboys actually complained or offered suggestions things wouldn't be in this ridiculous state.

Sorry if I offended anybody, but I'd really like to hear if your experience with Apple and the way it treats customers is different. I seriously considered switching but I didn't see anything but a "this is what we got - take it or leave it" attitude.

Stop using Microsoft products 😉

Works fine on my Mac. Put a file up you are having trouble with (pm me with a link if you want), and Ill see how it reacts on my aging system.

We (Mac users) do complain when we need to. Apple has a forum dedicated to this.

Sorry if I offended anybody,

Only by your ignorance, and that can be corrected. 😉

Most companies have a take it or leave it attitude. I have had no problems with my Mac, Mac software, or Apple since I started using them. It was about a year ago now, and Im saving money for my second Mac. 😛

Okay, I got check out Apple again. Maybe I'll get one as a second machine. The file in question is on my hardrive, but it happens on all my Quicktime files. But I just ran Dxdiag and noticed that there was some flickering during a Direct Draw test. I know Quicktime uses Direct Draw, so I am going to reinstall DirectX and also update my Nvidia drivers to 30.82. Hopefully that will fix it. I just got a little aggravated when I couldn't find anything on the Quicktime website. I also got a little aggravated when I realized that a 3-year warranty on a Mac costs $249 and when I read about the 90 warranty on Ipod (I believe they changed it to 1 year - but I also think a company has to have some real audacity to even try to provide only 90 days on a $399 product).

You're right about me needing to stop using M$ products. I have to move to something else before they thrust Palladium on people. Dirty ba$tards.

Anyway, my problem was solved with the driver upgrade, I think a reinstall of 28.42 probably also would have fixed it. I guess it's just one of those things.
