I hate wasps and yellowjackets and other flying stinging insects, but this
takes the cake... Jesus H. Christ.... I am scared of them just sitting here 3000 miles away...

Good luck to those of you who live there... you are gonna need it.

Pic of the nest filling the 55 Chevy.

Holy crap.

On another note, I can't believe a whole article on a subject like that and not a single picture.

edit - thanks for the pic link. Damn. How do you even go about removing something like that? I think I'd start with a large laser guided incindiary bomb dropped from at least 30,000 feet.

I had a 4-story yellow jacket nest inside an old tree stump in my backyard once. The bees in there were sort of greenish.

It literally was about a foot tall, with little pedestals/columns supporting each story.

Nothing like the dude in that article had, though.

Holy crap!

I got stung by a couple yellowjackets saturday...surprisingly, the stings didn't hurt at all, not nearly as bad as beestings. I thought it would be worse.

Hmmmm... you have never stumbled on a nest then. I had one in the ground that I did not see at the back of my house (1 acre woods) in GA. They bubbled out of the ground and chased me. The only way to get rid of the ones stinging you is to kill them while running. And they are already PO'ed, so smashing them is not going to make it worse. About 10 of them stung me. A couple got me 4-5 times. Killing one, I watched another pull her stinger out at least 3 times before she was flattened. Hurts for about 3 days and I am not allergic.

Another bunch of tards speaking of a place they have never been or never will. I've lived in 'bama all my life and have traveled over a good portion of the rest of the country and NO ONE has a monolopy on idiots. The biggest redneck/white trash people I've ever seen were in Nebraska and Ohio.

Anyway, about the wasps. I also have stepped on a ground nest. I'm sure my neighbors thought I had gone insane, running full speed across the lawn stripping my shirt and shoes off. :D

They're just mad that Buzz lost the Capital One mascot competition, and they're extracting revenge on the people that didn't vote for him :p

I love Alabama :(

And I love Yellow Jackets, they are very pretty looking but they do hurt like fvck when they sting. Last time I got stung was about 8 years ago when I was mowing the lawn for the first time that year. Apparently they built a nest in the ground and when I ran over it they attacked me. I got the last laugh when I poured gas in their nest tho :D
