Quickie question: how do I get volume control back in the system tray?

I installed a new sound card and the little volume control speaker icon disappeared on my system tray. How can I get it back?

Somewhere in audio properties you'll find a check box for showing volume control on taskbar.

Control Panel/Sounds and multimedia.

On the sounds tab, right at the bottom, tick show volume control on task bar

Go to control panel and then to multimedia properties. At the bottom of that screen you should see a check box labelled "Show volume control on the taskbar."

It's in the MultiMedia control panel.
