Quickie! How many clients can connect to Win2k PRO?

I thought it was 5 before you're supposed to go to Win2k Server.
but can't remember

Sorry..."clients" specifically refer to log-ons to a "server" that establish permissions, etc. (thus the client-server relationship). Connections are the simultaneous use of resources for Win2k, XP Pro, etc...and the limit is 10. Depending on what is being accessed, though, seriously look at Server before that 10 limit (I generally tell clients at 5+)

There is a HARD limit of the OS for only 10 TCP/IP connections as well...


BTW, if your using it as a server you will probably be illegal unless you purchase client access licenses(CAL's) from Microsoft.

i'm thinking about reccomending it for a very small (3-4 clients) network, he is little scared of going to Linux. And I'm not reccomending win2kserver to him.
