If I bid and still haven't met the reserved price... but am still the highest bidder at the end of the auction, I'm not obligated to purchase it (if he wants to sell for under reserve), correct ?

I am looking to BUY IT NOW from someone else right now so I don't want to be held accountable for the first item which didn't meet his reserve anyway..

QUESTION#2: seller responds to my question and posts it in the listing at the same time. Is it possible for them to edit their response within the listing or even remove it from showing altogether ? They made a mistake...

that is correct, if you don't meet the reserve and you are the highest bidder, you are not obligated to purchase.
