Quick Wireless Question

I have 3 wireless access points all broadcasting the same SSID. They are all on the same floor but what I want to know is, is it possible to find out which access point I'm connected to? I was walking around to each wireless access point, which are about 150 ft apart, but couldn't tell if I was connected to the one right in front of me or the one that was 150 ft away.

I want to know if I'm properly "hopping" without dropping connection or if its just staying on one connection and I'm assuming that I'm properly hopping.... I just need a way to tell

ALL advice is appreciated

your wireless client may show the IP. otherwise you must use a sniffer to watch for association packets.

Thanks for the tip, but I just used another method before checking this post. I just checked the logs of WAPs to see if I associated or not ;)

Make sure that Laptop configured to connect to various SSIDs, and set the three SSID to unique names.

In my experience it makes hoping better, and it will allow you the map your coverage patterns.
