Quick wireless network help!

I know this is not the networking forum, but I need a quick answer or suggestions.

Hooking up a friend's mom's wireless network for the new Toshiba laptop she bought.

I'm using a D-Link DI-514 Wireless router. Router is set up correctly, SSID, WEP, Channel are all set.

They have a Dell desktop that is using a ethernet cable to plug into the router. The internet works fine on this computer.

The Toshiba laptop does not see the wireless network. Just does not see it at all. "There are no wireless networks found in range"

I am out of ideas. Wireless is enabled and as I said the SSID, WEP and channel are all set.

The Toshiba has a proprietary connection software and I have tried to let windows configure the connection. Both do not find a network.

Thanks

Some toshiba laptops have a little switch that enables or disables wifi. On one here at work it's on the front, left side.
