Don't have the patience for GH. OT should be able to handle somthing this simple, though.

Uber-cheap RF wireless keyboard + mouse combo (The one that Directron sells as matching the Chieftec cases - which it does very well)

The keyboard functions fine - the mouse jumps all over the f'n place. I only managed to test it under NT4 (It was on the harddrive) and WinXP is still installing - is this likely to be the problem?

Mousing surface is fine - I've tried a variety of them.

I'm also using the uber-cheap factory batteries. Could this be the deal?

Issue resolved. NT4 is retahhhded. It works fine in XP setup.
