I uninstalled that from the add/remove windows components panel, because I never use it 😛

Why, because it takes up too much space and resources? lol

Strickly speaking, the best fit is ?, its the most obvious to just about anyone.

Also used is <> by Visual Basic Programmers (I think C uses this also but not as much), and in some math cases (easier to prove then a strickly not equal to).

C/C++/C# and some other programmers will use !=. Not used in math.

I like != because well, I'm a C#/C++ programmer 🙂

? tends not to be used cause there is typically no button for it on the keyboard.

Sorry for rambling, it was interesting to me to think of why each was used 🙂

and JAVA, as much as I hate it. But I suppose since it's like C++ aborted child, it would have something like that in common.

The "!=" is grossly overused here. People use it (sometimes when it doesn't even really fit) in an attempt to sound intelligent. They fail.

it unclutters my start menu.

I like a very minimalistic start menu.

... as opposed to just removing the shortcut to it from your start menu?

I think that is bad practice.
