you know on the periodic table, where it says what the mass is of one mole of each element? what units are those in?

Actually, in the context of what the mass is for one mole of the element, the units are grams. AMUs are only for when you're talking about a single atom.

Umm.. ATOMIC MASS != MASS OF A MOL

mass of a mol is g which is dependent on the molecular weight of the atom.
