Quick SLK800 question

I have a slk800 on my Palomino XP2000, well I'm RMAing the motherboard and using the SLK800 in a new system with the Barton 2500.
My question being does the SLK800(its the one with the clips, not the clamp that goes underneath) work with the Barton cores as well as with the Palomino cores?
