Quick shipping question

If someone said they shipped the item today w/ DC, and they gave me the tracking number, when should it show up on usps.com?

I think it varies. I'm in the same boat right now - waiting for it to show up on usps.com. In my previous experience it comes up within 12-24 hours.

its not a tracking number, its a delivery confirmation number. its updated with 24-48 hours of when it gets scanned in, and then it gets updated again when its delivered. no updates in between.

that's why i hate usps.....well i still use them occasionally but i hate the fact that something so simple as DC costs almost 50 cents. I mean it's a freaking scan at the beg. and at the end......shouldn't that be INCLUDED? damn.

It's more useful than you think... but not really to the recipient. For the sender, it's golden. It's proof that you don't have to give a refund because the package did show up and it's proof that the package was sent.

Confirmation number does exactly what it says, it confirms the package's received, it doesn't track. Only express mail provide tracking. The confirmation number is really for the benefit of the seller so he/she knows the buyer received the package. It will show up in USPS's system when the package is delivered.

If they printed the label on-line its quite possible it will never show up.
Where the hell did you hear that from? I use USPS.com to buy shipping labels w/ confirmation all the time, the confirmation shows up just fine.

I'm not questioning the usefulness by any means...b/c I do agree it is helpful for both parties...but it just pisses me off that USPS charges you for it when it should be something included.
