Quick ram question.

Real quick question about ram. In the bios for time setting for my ram I have a selection of Manuel or SPD. What is SPD? With manuel I can change the cas and such, but with SPD it set it at 2-6-3-3.

SPD means Serial Presence Detect. Basically it is a big of memory on the chip that tells the motherboard what it is and what its normal settings should be. Setting your BIOS to SPD tells it to use the timings that the memory module was designed to work at. If you set your BIOS to manual you can select the timings.

Thus you can under/over clock the memory by doing so 🙂
