I just bought a new 80 GB hard drive yesterday and when it gets here I am going to upgrade my OS.

I was wondering which is more efficient for SETI, XP Pro or Win 2K Pro?

I haven't used XP Pro yet, but I seem to remember reading that Win2K is slightly more efficient for Seti than XP Pro (but that may have been because of more GUI stuff running on the XP machine).

If you disable all the eye candy in XP you'll get the same times!! I started with 2000 pro and switche d to XP pro and mie times never changed, ~3:24-3:30!
