Quick question

I am trying to pull the ide cable out. I have never pulled it out before. I pulled it firmly enough but it did not come out. Should I pull harder ??? Is it a simple pull mechanism??? Can't see any clips or press and pull mechanism. Quick answer please as I am in the middle of doing this. I was scared to pull harder as I was not sure of the mechanism.

THANKS

There shouldn't be any locking mechanism. Just tug a little harder. I usually prefer to grab it close to the interface and pull so that I can wiggle it a little to loosen it up.

It is very simple. Grab a rope and duck tape to the IDE. Wrap the rope around the bumbper of your car. Make sure you drive the car at least 60 M.P.H. That should solve your problem.

Grab the cable as close to the connector on the HD as you can. Also, try pulling one side out slightly so it will wiggle out instead of pulling from the middle.

it's nice to have the tabs on the connectors
you can get cables with them
but sometimes these tabs get in the way when your working in the box

worked !! thanks............my ZIP is finally working.
To konboy/smart ass.........I used a train instead of the car.
