Actually, "ALT-print screen" or "print screen" copies the entire window to the clipboard. Open a graphics editor or other program capable of accepting graphics and press CTL-V to paste it.
Plain old "print screen" was a key frequently used with DOS programs that worked with DOS compatible printers. Some Windows programs will map the key to print the contents of the screen to your default printer, but in general, the key doesn't usually send text to the printer by itself.
