The printer.:)

It copies to the clipboard and you have to open a program like Paint Shop Pro and paste it there.

Where's the clipboard?

It's a location in memory where things get stored (ie - when you cut, or copy something). The image from PRTSCN also goes here.

what do you want to do with it.

once you press prnt scrn, open up paint or photoshop, and just go to edit, paste. and there is your picture, now save it as something and do with it as you wish.

when u do a print screen you can put it into paint, just go into paint and choose paste and it will paste your screenshot!
i think you can do this with other photo editing programs too (ie, photoshop)

Right. The clipboard is virtual. When something in copied to the clipboard, all you have to do is PASTE to whatever program and you'll be cool.

To the MS mafia for review. If they don't approve, you'll hear a knock on your door within 5 minutes.

Actually, "ALT-print screen" or "print screen" copies the entire window to the clipboard. Open a graphics editor or other program capable of accepting graphics and press CTL-V to paste it.

Plain old "print screen" was a key frequently used with DOS programs that worked with DOS compatible printers. Some Windows programs will map the key to print the contents of the screen to your default printer, but in general, the key doesn't usually send text to the printer by itself.

Depends what OS u r running. Try START RUN and type in C:\WINDOWS\CLIPBRD.EXE to bring up the clipboard.
Or do like the fellow member mention before me. For your first try open up paint. Then press PRINT SCREEN button. Next in paint choose edit tab inside u will see paste. A screen will pop up something like image to large for blah blah just hit ok to that. You now should see a picture of your desktop in paint.

Good Luck
