Just a quick question:

Is there a way to disable the sidebar menu on the left side of the forums? I've tried a few times in my profile, but it won't disappear.

People have written scripts to postprocess the page to remove specific pieces. The forum software won't do it, but this can be modified to do what you want.

If you search around there are others people have written that do what you want.
