i got a P4 1.7 around 2 months ago and just recently i noticed in the bios that you can enter a multiplier digit. i tried it in my albatron board and my gigabyte board and both had the "enter multiplier" option opened.

i know P4's are locked but i entered a number anyway but after saving and rebooting, it goes back to the original multiplier amount. anyone know what's going on here?

yeh but usually if the cpu is locked, the place where u enter the multiplier amount is greyed out. for some reason this CPU opens them but the multiplier won't change.
