Since i caused such a ruckus i will put in an additional 2 cents worth.
According to the pictures because Creative's site mentions nothing about chipsets I would have to say that the main chipset the one branded Audigy is the one responsible for it because I don't think any of the other chips are big enough to handle firewire.
