What browser is the current version of AOL (7.0) based on? And are they planning on staying with this base?
Thanks for any info on the subject.

2.0 up to 4.0 used AOL's proprietary browser, which really sucked badly.
5.0 up to 7.0 use Internet Explorer.
8.0 will use Mozilla! At last, AOL'ers will get SOMETHING decent! :D

Doubtful. AOL will modify Mozilla to appeal to the below average user. It will be horrible. Trust me. AOL has not done one thing right. Look at netscape. They bought it and sat on it. WinAMP, will they ever release 3.0? AOL will just fill it up with ads and make it proprietary.

They are already beta testing AOL 7.0 with the Gecko browser and it works great. It doesn't really look or perform differently than IE 6 on my XP machine.
