Is there any difference in SATA cables? I've seen some cheap ones on newegg and the like (for around $3) but then I've also seen some around $15 and I'm just wondering if there could be any difference between them, ora disadvantage of using a cheaper cable?

I have no knowledge of this SATA stuff ;)

I bought a cable from Hyper Micro when I bought my drive. (Forgot where I had the good ones stashed). The cables that came with the motherboard feel more durable, are a bit bigger, and hold much tighter onto the drive's connector. Same thing for the 4 pin adaptors for the PSU; the ones that came with the power supply hold better and don't feel as cheap.
My two cents.
