Quick question regarding video

I'm currently looking to spend a few bucks on upgrading my system (new video card), but I would like to keep costs down but still get a good "bang for the buck" deal with my money. Would you guys recommend.

Here is my specs.

AMD 64 3200
Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe
Swiftech MCX64-V/Thermaltake 80mm fan
2GB (4x512mb) Corsair XMS PC-3200(TwinX 1024-3200C2PT)
Ahanix Black Knight Case w/ 2x120mm case fans
OCZ ModStream 520W PSU ATX 2.0
XFX Geforce 6600 GT 128mb PCI-E
Maxtor 250GB SATA HDD w/ 16mb buffer
Pioneer 16x DVD
NuTech 8x DVD-/+RW
Logitech MX-1000 Laser Mouse
Dell FP2001 20? LCD monitor
Microsoft Natural Keyboard
Windows XP Pro

I'm wondering if it would be best if I just purchased another XFX 6600GT and run a SLI setup or if it would be better to just throw out my 6600GT and buy a better single card. Again, I'm looking to get the best "bang for the buck" here. I haven't been following along with all the new developments in video cards and have no idea which direction I should take. Thanks in advance.

6600 gt sli is pretty much a waste cause it roughly equals 1 6800 gt

if you're going for bang for bucks, getting a 7900 gt or x1800 xt for $299 would be a pretty good choice
