I have Nero 5 that came on a CD with my Ricoh burner. Nero 5 would not burn my Cd's. Nero 5.5xx could.
Is 5.5xx a free upgrade form 5 ???

I downloaded 5.5xx but it is acting like a demo should it not just update my version 5.
It is asking for serial no.
I don't see any on my Ricoh/Nero version 5 CD....????

Actually, I think it is a free upgrade. I purchased NERO5 sometime last year and 5.5 installed right over my older version. I would suggest that you contact NERO and tell them about your problem, they know their own software better than us.

Regarding 20-25 minute wait...............these forums are so good that normally you get a reply within few minutes.

You don't need any cracks or anything to upgrade Nero 5.0 to 5.5. It is a free upgrade for folks who got 5.0 for free with their burners. That's the way I got it. I really like the new version.

Yes Nelson you are right it's free............I uninstalled 5..then reinstalled it and then reinstalled 5.5 and this time it worked fine. Did not ask for serial no. etc.
Yes it's definetely better.....atleast for me............. now that I am able to burn finally.
