Quick question on wireless access points

I have a D-link superg broadband router connected downstairs to my Cable (UK NTL) this then (obviously) send the signal around the house. Upstairs is where I tend to keep my computers.
I want to be able to connected several machines to another wireless access point via ethernat cables so that they can all access the internet. Do I purchase another router or do I specifically need an access point?

either. go to ezlan for info. don't use superg unless you don't live near other people. it hogs all the bandwidth avaliable and messes with other wifi networks.
