HI all, I just have a quick question about my Asus A7v333 that i recently bought.

I installed an Xp1600 into it and Coolermaster HHC-001 that i used on my XP1800 with MSI Ultra board. The temp readout on the MSI is around 30-35C. so I expected the same results with the XP1600 if not less. To my suprise, the temp shot up to 58degree, and 63 with my aluminum heatsink on the A7V333. I updated the bios and still same problem, the temp is in the sixties.....is this normal???? I touch the heatsink,,its not that hot,,is the mobo just reading it wrong????

What temp do you all run with your A7v333 w/Xp1600, i would love to know. Thanks

James

The boards are calibrated differently. I have a 1600+ running at 166MHz bus on my A7V333-R (1750MHz) with an extra 0.05V on the voltage, and with a generic-ish all-aluminum Coolermaster heatsink with a medium-output 60mm fan, my temps read 55C at the on-CPU thermistor (according to MBM5) and 53C at the socket thermistor (although this used to be more like 60C before I RMA'ed the board and got a different BIOS as a result). High 60's are where I'd start worrying on the A7V333's. :D

edit: the temps I mentioned are with SETI@home running the CPU at 100% load. Case temperature is 29C.

I'm just use to seeing temp in the 30's with my Xp1800.....it pisses me off seeing high 50's and into the 60's.

The real core temperature is probably even higher. The things are spec'ed for either 85C or 90C maximum, depending on the particular CPU.
