is 512 dual ch pc2100 better than 768 single ch pc2100?

I have a 400sc p4 2.24? at 533fsb. I have mismatched crutial pc2100 256 and 512. But when I check CPU-Z it's running at 533. Is that what is to be expected? Because i thought pc2100 ddr runs at 133x2=266. How did i end up at 533fsb without dual ch? I have a stick of crutial 256 at my parents house... should i give them the 512 so i can run dual ch?

I doubt the memory is running at 533, there must be a divider. Your FSB is your CPU FSB I think which would be 533 on a P4. As far as I remember for Dual Channel your memory has to be matching, you can't run 1x512 and 1x256 in dual mode. In any case I heard from a friend (works for a local computer shop) that 2x256 dual channel will give you better performance than 768 single.

EDIT: I was thinking about the whole "Quad Pumped" thing going on but I thought Only the P4c 800fsb were quad. I stand corrected.
