Quick question in Linux (Mandrake . . .)

I've got Mandrake setup on my Linux box right now (yes I know . . . blasphemy, but I screwed the partition table recently and just didn't feel like the work of setting up slackware how I like it). Anyhow, I can't find on the IP address of the beast for anything (it's running DHCP off of another machine of mine). I used to be able to type dhcpd as root in slackware and that would show me the ip address (and an error message, but I just wanted the info 🙂). Anyhow, that doesn't work on Mandrake so can anyone tell me how to find out the ip here? (I need to be able to ftp files between my systems).

Well, so long as the problem's solved I don't care much. If that works on openbsd though I'm guessing it's fairly standard. Last time I setup Redhat I ran netstat (I think, or maybe it was netwatch?) and sat there watching all of the connections and then figured out which one was the local machine 🙂.

Ouch. That sounds painful. But what I meant is that simple solutions like the one I provided are generally not thought of because of the fact they are just that simple. Anyhow, glad to see Mandrake <eg> is working out for you 😛
