This might belong in a different forum but I thought I'd give it a shot. I've got these stupid HP Vectra VL5's that I'm trying to sell, but in order for me to get all the specs and make sure they are correct, I want to open these stupid things up! There are two latches on each side and a lock and key, how do I open these stupid things?!

Fvck with the above items until case opens. Failing previous, use brick.

I think i've removed those before... you need to take off the front plate first, then you can remove the body.

well.... at work we have had alot of those types only a desktop version
what I have usualy done is opened the clips and then used a screwdriver to force the top cover off, for the desktops it pulls forward, a total bítch to open

yes, looked at your last pic, put the screwdriver at the back, between the cover and the case and just try to pry it open

My solution to opening them. pull tabs up (like they are in pic 1). Place foot on floppy drive (be careful not to obstruct the two pieces of plastic on the sides they are going to be pulled towards you), cdrom and NOT the plastic pieces below. PULL on the two plastic tabs will pushing the cdrom away from you.

If this doesn't work, your case is probably locked. You can get into it with a screw driver and any drill. The lock is solid metal, but it's attached to the grey PLASTIC block and can be taken off in a few minutes. Let me see if i still have that case that I had to drill into...

I worked on one of these, broke the bezel getting it off, put some duck tape on it and its good as new. I tried for like 20 minutes and gave up and just pulled until something gave.

I think you have to pull the entire outer shell forward while pushing the rest back. Like what Savij said.
