I didn't use Creative's installation program to install the drivers for it(did it manually)......I just went into DirectX to test out the speakers, and I only get sound from the left and right front speakers. I have the feeling that that installation program lets you set the speaker settings, such as if you have two speakers, 5.1 speakers, etc. Since I didn't use that, how do I adjust those settings? I looked in the Creative folder but the only thing it could possibly be is "JetDirect". That doesn't sound like what I'm looking for, but if it is, let me know:) TIA.

Because I already have the drivers installed, when I tried the installation program by Creative it froze up during installation........now you know why I did it manually:) Aren't the files that let you change settings in the drivers?

Before the installation froze, it asked me which speaker configuration I wanted. I used a cheap two speaker system just to test the sound card(I now have 5.1 speakers hooked up), so that may be why it's set at two speakers.......It said you can always change this setting from some program.....but I forgot what it was called. If someone could tell which program it was...I could search through the CD and find it....I tried finding it but nothing I browsed through rung a bell.

You could uninstall the software, remove the devices from the device manager, and try the install program again if you so wished.

But doesn't the Audigy have an AudioHQ panel with an Speaker setup item like the Live? Look for an AudioHQ icon in your system tray or control panel.

I'm not sure about the Audigy line yet, I have a Live! Value, but it may be similar.

You just go Programs>Creative>Sound Blaster Live!(in my case, probably Audigy or something for you)>Speaker Preset Setup. You are then given prompts to set up your speakers.

Hope that helps.

Just go into your audio properties and change the setup from two speakers to 5.1 surround sound speakers.
That's what I did when I changed from the two speakers setup to Quadraphonic with my FPS 2000 speakers.

lol, that was easy. Just went into Control Panel like Vinny suggested, clicked Audio Devices, and found my way right to the speaker settings. Thx all, I should try harder before I result to Anand tech support, they have better things to do then answer my silly questions, hehe;)
