Quick Question: Does Heineken have more % alcohol by volume then normal beers?

This is to settle a small debate between a few friends of mine. Does it have more than regular domestic beers?

from heineken.com's faq:

What are the nutritional facts for Heineken Lager?
Alcohol - 5% by volume Carbohydrates - 11.5 grams/12 fl. oz. Protein - 1.5 grams/12 fl. oz. Sodium - 7.5 mg/12 fl. oz. Calories - 150 calories/12 fl. oz.

I'm pretty sure it depends on the state, but around here Heineken is the same alcohol percentage as most beers. Bud Light and the like are exceptions though. 5% is the standard:beer:

5% is standardish. Cheaper ones are around 4%. Stella Artois is just over 6% if I remember correctly, I spent a whole day stuck in a fridge stacking the things. Someone feel free to prove me wrong, I can't be bothered.

Or just hit up some cheap booze and reach your goal of being drunk more efficiently.

It'll dehyrdate you less, too.

What's a microbrew exactly?

Beer that is brewed in small batches and is not mass market like Bud, Coors, Miller, etc. We are talking 10,000 or less barrels a year in most cases, and a lot of the time they sell their beer at their brewery. Your selection varies by region.

Jeez, $200 for a bottle of beer! (19.5 - 20.0 %)

The package is as elegant as the beer it contains: a cobalt blue bottle with platinum lettering, finished with a natural cork and sealing wax, encased in a cherry wood box. There are only 3,000 bottles of Samuel Adams Millennium, and each is signed and numbered by Koch. A bottle of Samuel Adams Millennium costs about two hundred dollars.
