Quick question about VP6?

Is there a case temperature probe on the board? I am using MBM and it says the case temp is 71 F and it never changes. I know that is wrong and I think I might have a defective board. Anyone else have this board and know if there is a case temp probe?

I don't believe it does.

I will load up MBM and see what I get and then get back to you.

I loaded the Temperatur monitoring program that came on the CD with the motherboard and there doesn't seem to be a temperature read out for a case temp.

That's why I say it doesn't at first.

If you email me to remind me I'll be sure to get back to you ASAP.

Also 2CPU.com has a screen shot of MBM running on the VP6. You might want to look at that and compare.

I loaded MBM 5.1 and I haven't figured out where the sensors are but if you go to the temperature sensors section and then select sensor one.

Then in the board sensor pulldown select Via686A-1. I believe that is the case sensor.

There are 3 Via686A sensors. #1 reads 22C, #2 reads 30C and #3 reads 30C. I'm not sure which ones are which. I used a thermometer from radio shack to measure my case temp to try and figure it out. I thought #1 might be the case sensor since the other two are the same thinking those would be the CPUs. I'm not sure but I'll probably do some more looking.

If you have any success finding that information I would be curious to hear what you found.

Hope that helps.

Thanks,
Curt
