My friend has to appear tomorrow in court. She decided to fight the ticket with ticketasassin. Can she mail the "not guilty" letter tomorrow?. What happen is she mails it and does not show up in court tomorrow?

You win if the officer that cited you does not show up in court. Ask for extension for the court appearance??

I guess what I really need to know is what happens when you don't show up in court? How much are the penalties?

that is a BAD idea , see Evadman's post above

it is too late, she can't just not show up

she will likely have a Bench warrant issued.

Never been, so I'm just guessing - but wouldn't they just rule that she's guilty since she didn't show up?

Bingo! Failure to appear is serious business.

EDIT: And yes, they will rule against her; the ruling will be guilty.

just show up, a lot of times the officer won't even show up and you'll win by default.

Don't get too excited when you don't see the officer there; it's probably just an arraignment hearing, where the officer need not be present. The case will either be dismissed at the arraingment (possible with a full, honest sounding explanation to the judge), or the "real" trial date will be set. And the officer will show up at that one.
