A quick question since I'm getting my stuff in tomorrow.

I've been reading that you shouldn't do any overclocking until you've installed windows. So on my 2600 mobile, what should i set the multiplier and FSB to when i'm just putting everything together?

board AN35
and pc3200 ram

thanks guys

Will his shuttle board let him set a multi that high? I think the best you'll get is 133x12.5 to get it close to the normal 2600+ speed. When you get it built tell us how it overclocks on that board. I was in a toss up between that and the biostar m7ncd pro board and went with biostar with my pc.

according to the AN35 manual i got in pdf form from shuttle's site, mulitpliers are available from 8 - 23
also a review by HEXUS claims the same thing.

so i should set it to like 14.5 and leave the FSB at its default 133 until ive succesfully installed windows?
What is the normal speed? newegg says its 2ghz which would be more like 15x133 if that information is correct.

If anything I'd just run it at whatever speed it detects and install Windows from there.

Let it be 14.5 or 15 multiplier, they are both ok.

Let it detect it and run the windows instal at default....

Then....

Drop the multipler 12.5 and run the fsb up and hopefully you get to 200fsb for pc3200 memory like alot of the ppl...that will give you 2.5ghz.....

Got some more left then try going to 13x200 for 2.6ghz...Seen this one a few time as well...

The key for stability with a lot of these boards are not to go much past 200fsb....Let the multiplier help you out...

Just a FYI....I bought that same board. You might want to get the newest bios ASAP. You will be missing about half of your multipliers without it, or at least I was. I didn't have 10, 10.5, 11, or 11.5....overclocking is somewhat useless without those.
