QUICK question about RAM TYPES

P2 uses SDRAM.....168 pins, 66 MHz bus (you can also use 100 and 133 MHz)

P1.....hmmmm i'm not sure....EDO ram?

yeah the P1s use 66mhz 72pin P2s 66mhz-100mhz 168pin sdram and P3s 168pin 100mhz-133mhz sdram or P3s ( Coppermines ) can use "RDRAM"

My boss has a pentium computer which, according to the motherboard will allow you to use one of the 168pin DIMMs and two of the 72 pin SIMMs if they're not double sided, assuming it's an even numbered friday and there's a full moon and there's a 3mph west wind. Something like that anyway.

I have a VX mobo with two 32MB EDO SIMMS and a 32MB SDRAM. If I put another SDRAM in the 2nd DIMM slot the computer just won't run at all. I think only being able to mix one DIMM with the SIMMs is an issue with the VX chipset. I don't have any other Intel chipset mobos with SIMM and DIMM slots so I don't know if it applies to other chipsets of Intel's, like the 430TX.
