Quick question about memory

My friend has a computer with a bad motherboard and wants me to fix it for him. He has a 1G Thunderbird and a Abit KT7 board with PC133 memory. He wants to upgrade to the Abit KX7-333 motherboard, but can't afford new DDR memory right now. I wasn't sure about using his PC133 memory. Can he use his old memory for now until he can afford to upgrade it also???

The 333 board takes DDR RAM only.

DDR SDRAM is 184 pin; regular SDR SDRAM is 168 pin.
