Quick question about hooking HDD's to PSU.

Ok I have a Y-Type Peripheral Power Cable.

Is it ok to have the one end plugged into the PSU, and the two on the other end into both the HDD's?

On does it have to be one connection to the PSU for each HDD?(using single straight cables for each)

Im just lookin at the manual and have never done this before so Im trying to get a vision of how this is gonna work before the last of my stuff gets here.

Thanks!

I always try to avoid using a splitter for hard drives. Just divide them up using common and only use a splitter if necessary. Most power supplies should have sufficient connectors on them that you shouldn't have to worry about this.

Awesome thanks!

One more quick question.

Lets say I run out of single connectors but have a Y connector left over, Would it be ok to use the Y for a single connection and just cap off the unused one?

Depends on what the running current draw on them is and what the wire is rated at. Although highest draw would be at startup so meh.. Should be fine with IDE/SATA though.
