I used some thermal paste when I set this computer up, and I used entirely too much on both the heatsink and cpu die. My heatsink is an ALX-800 and the cpu is a 2400m

I got some AS5 now, and I am going to clean up my last job with alcohol and use AS5 instead. How much/where should I use it? On the just the cpu die, just the heatsink, or both, and what size amount etc. Thanks

i like to put a tiny bit in the middle, then spread it around with a razorblade. Get it as thin as you can while covering the whole die. If you put extra on there, it's not a huge deal, but it'll squeeze out the sides and kinda make a mess. It's not supposed to conduct electricity, but still, it's not something you want all over your circuitry.
