If I were to put a cpu that i'm unsure of (whether dead or alive) into a good motherboard, if it were dead/bad, would it hurt the motherboard?
I pulled a 2600+ out of a motherboard that was definitely bad, but the cpu had a small "tit"...like a swollen up place...on the bottom of it & the motherboard had a corresponding burnt spot on it.
Since I know the motherboard's bad, i'd like to double check the cpu, but I don't want to ruin a motherboard in the process.
