Problem on latent heat:

A woman finds the front windshield of her car covered with ice at -12 degrees celcius. The ice has a thickness of 4.5 x10^-4 m. The windshield has an area of 1.25 m ^2. The density of ice is 917 kg/m^3. HOw much heat is required to melt the ice?

I've been fine with heat latency problems, but this one threw things at me I'd never seen in them before, such as thickness, area, and density..!? How do I work those in?

Use area and thickness to get the volumn, then the denstiy to get the mass. You should be able to carry forward from there.
