Quick photoshop question

Damn this tool is pretty neat. I don't know how to make it stop though :x - Only way I can stop the "lassoing" is to press Escape it seems or else it just follows my mouse everywhere no matter what, it won't let go. If i press escape it cancels the whole selection. How do I get this bastard to let go of my mouse when I'm done lassoing the area I selected?

hold down the mouse button and it will follow your movement and when you finish holding down it will pull a straight path the origin, then use your direct selection tool to move whatever is inside the area.

Click the dot where you started lassoing.
