Hello everybody! I was just wondering if crossfiring requires you to have 2 of the same EXACT type of cards. For example: I currently have a Diamond HD5770, would I need another ->Diamond<- HD5770 card to crossfire it or would I be able to just buy another regular 5770 and crossfire. Also another question, would I be better off paying for another 5770 and crossfiring it until the next generation cards or saving that money for a GTX 680/685 (when available)? Thanks for the help in advance. :D

No you don't have to have the exact same 5770's for xfire and i would just save up for a 7850

Not worth it bro. Nvidia has taken all the fun out of their cards. No overclocking. Just plug and play anymore

Oh, I didn't know that :( so what's the point of selling the hydro copper if its not overclockable? That's pretty lame.

The 680 and 670 have "Auto" Overclocking based on how cool the cards run. Its pretty pathetic.

Wow it's a good thing you told me man. If I didn't know they weren't overclockable I would have wasted money on it

A single 5870 or 6950 would be a better bet. Even a 6870 would be comparable in modern games, if not a bit faster. All this without hassles of cf

I was thinking about getting a 7850 because I heard they overclock like a boss and its not even that expensive. Or maybe I should just save up my monies for a 7970/680/685?

There wont be a 685, don't bother waiting.

I think a 7850 will be great. Price is decent, and as you said, they can OC well. Just be sure to get a dual fan model. The single fan ones run pretty hot.

Well maybe not a 685 but the GK110 that's going to be released (hopefully) this year. And I was looking at the XFX Double D 7850 but I heard the cooling on that one isn't as good as other dual fan 7850's.
