Ok recently I installed the latest 4.76 version of Netscape (didnt want to cuz I use it mainly for website testing) and I was wondering if theres some way you can NOT have it install like AIM 3.0.

I am asking this cuz I currently have AIM 4.3 and when you install NS 4.7x, it installs ANOTHER version of AOL Instant Messenger in the Netscape dir leaving me with 2 versions on the same hard drive.

Is there a way to get around this? It's annoying cuz I do not need two AIM programs, yet I need Netscape to test my web pages.

Thanks alot!

go to advancedoptions in setup and uncheck it - also you can uncheck realplayer

Nope.. there is no Advanced option in it. I did the Custom install and looked all over for an Advanced Options and there was none.

Don't think there is any way. Wife gets rid of it by editing out the registry and deleting every instance of it. Thats not possible in your case since you use a version of it

You could just wipe it all out and instal the netscape 4.08 standalone browser. That sounds like it would get the job done for what your using it for.

It gets on my nerves cuz I wish the Netscape setup would detect a version of AIM already installed and NOT install it. I mean.. its version 3.0 for crying out loud.

Hubbs, I saw that but I was wondering if there was a version 4.7 of just Navigatior by itself that I could grab considering 4.08 is old as hell (came out in 1998) and I want to use a version alot of the web users use.

Crap. I tried like that guy said about removing AIM, but it doesnt work with 4.75 when i did exactly what he said. I think it may be something where those commmies at AOL wont allow it in 4.7x and above. :(
