Quick - need a way to pull about five seconds from a low quality video and make a .gif from it

Need a program to extract stills from the video and then a program to make the .gifs.

i use imageready. if you are not able to do it, give me a PM.

i use tmpgenc to extract the frames. i think the option is called "output source as jpeg" or something to that effect. then i just connect them together with adobe imageready.

tmpgenc is free, correct? But of course ImageReady isn't.
