Anyone know of a way to earn quick money on the side? My fiance and I are trying to save up money for our wedding next year, but the saving of the money just isn't happening and we both have full time jobs... So if anyone knows of any quick money making schemes, I'm all up for 'em.. try to keep them nice and simple :D

Thanks

If your fiancee is any good, she can donate eggs. Pays aroudn $5K up to $15K I think. There's a process to go through but do that a couple times at some places and you'll be set for wedding and honeymoon. Spend most of it on honeymoon though. :D

Thanks, I'll definitely be looking into the selling crack idea... :) But really, the other ideas were interesting, may have to look into them more.. plasma seems very possible, dunno about the paper delivering though.. very interesting suggestion.

Setup a web page asking for donations. I've seen it done but don't know about their success.
Good luck, I'm still paying off my wedding, and honeymoon, etc...

Maybe you could work more on saving from the money you're already earning. If you can't control your spending, earning more probably won't help. Not saying this is the case, just a thought.

If your woman really loves you she'd let you put her out on the streets and make a few bucks. Matter of fact, I got a buddy who needs a slumpbuster....Can she help out?? hehehe

Get a friend to videotape the two of you for some "amateur" action. Its the fastest growing industry in porn. There are sites that buy the tapes, as-is, do the editing and pay you for it. Wear masks or something if you don't want to be known. You may have to tape more than once to get the lighting correct and everything, but once you do, its easy.

Kranky's solution is probably the best, but have you considered both getting a part-time job?

Do you have anything you don't need? Sell it.

I agree with the part-time job idea. Just make sure you wait tables or tend bar, you can make a ton of cash fast in the right restaurant/bar.

Have your fiance work at a strip bar during the night. Is that the type of part-time job you guys are talking about? ;):D

Viper GTS beat me to it! I've had a second job for the past 7 years. I make a decent buck, but I have lots of bills. I also have this problem with wanting a roof over my head, electricity and then there's that "food to eat" thing...... I like to live beyond my means and am willing to work for my toys.

Granted your situation is different, but we both need money! May I give my opinion on something? Good. Here they are, in no particular order and this is just my opinion and I'm not being mean.

1. Everyone knows that big, frilly foo-foo weddings are for two reasons only:
a) For the families of the bride and groom
b) To fufill all of the woman's little girl fantasies about a big wedding w/prince charming, long flowing gown, $44,000 in flowers, etc
What's missing here? Right, you. Your opinion is not counted here.

2. Don't let your fiance doom you both to a marriage doomed to fail because you started off $35K in debt because you (she) wanted a big, fancy wedding and a honeymoon in some exotic location. If you can't afford, you CAN'T AFFORD IT, PERIOD.

3. Back when my parents got married (1967) lots of couples were poor. Heck, most couples were poor. It was not uncommon to not have the honeymoon until you could afford it, say in a year or so. Bounce this idea off your fiancee. She'll prolly slap you, but you lose nothing by trying.

4. Your nuts are already in a vise. How do I know? You posted this, right? ;) Try to talk some sense into her. Do you really need the live, white horse drawn carriage to convey you from the curb to the church door? Etc, etc, etc.

Good luck. Call us from your buddies house when she locks you out. Seriously, good luck bud. Second job; here you come!

Actually I bet there are alot more people willing to give you $.50 to get married to a pretty lady than there are people willing to give money so some kid can buy a ferrari (http://www.buymeaferrari.com)

Itemize everything that each of you spend for a month(down to the $1).

Look at what is needed and what is wanted.

Force yourself to take the amount that is wanted and put it into the bank (lock it up) each payday before you can get to it.

Repeat above

I KNOW I KNOW!!!

Just post 10,000 messages to 10,000 newsgroups asking them to send you a $1.00. Put your name at the top of the list, and tell them to spam 10,000 other groups and they will become rich if they do. But remind them to pay you first.

How about lower your standard of living temporarily and put the money you save into a 30 day term or something?
If both of you have part time jobs, and you're not working at gas stations, there should be no reason two people cannot live very comfortably on a dual salary. Unless you're leasing two vehicles, paying your mortgage, and paying back student loans, in which case I guess this "save money" idea won't work too well. :)

Chances are if you have full time jobs but can't save increasing income will merely increase output. You need to learn finances. Buy a couple books on it. Trust me on this. Increasing income NEVER EVER fixes poor spending habits. You merely spend more.

This may take some work but you and your fiancee can make a lot of easy money several different ways. One of them is making an easy $600, here's how:

1) Each of you needs to open an individual (not joint) account with ING Direct Bank (an internet bank which is FDIC insured) and each of you receives $50 free.
2) Each of you refers 25 new customers to ING Direct, for every new customer who joins ING Direct they will receive $25 free and you will receive $10 per referral. So 25 referrals x $10 = $250 and if your fiancee gets 25 referrals x $10 = $250. Here's the really nice part, new customers don't have to open an account with a large amount of money nor do they have to stay with ING Direct forever. So your referrals get $25 for opening a new account and you get $10 per person. It's a win-win situation!

If you decide to stay with them they have very competitive savings and CD rates.

I'll be joining this weekend and should have 25 referrals lined up within 1 day, hehe the joys of publishing a hot deals newsletter ... SPAM is your friend.

Unfortunately 25 is the maximum number of referrals you're allowed to have.
