As a sidenote, you may want to find out how much memory Windows 98 will support. My experience was that I tried installing Win98 on a machine that had 1.5Gb of RAM and the installation wouldn't run. I then dropped it down to 1Gb of RAM, and the installation couldn't detect my video card. I don't see the need to have anymore than 512Mb in a machine. There really isn't a need for more than that, unless you're doing EXTREMELY HEAVY graphics and calculations. But if that's the case, you'd be better off using Win2k Pro or XP Pro rather than a "home-type" OS.

Good luck!!;)

You can get around the RAM limitation of Win 9x by limiting the amount of vcache that it assigns ,Cacheman is a nice easy utility to do this. :)

I thought windows had a limitation of 512mb no matter what. Only those systems with the NT kernel would see beyond or make use of 512mb. Will this cacheman help to go beyond?

Thanks for your input and suggestions.;)

There's an explanation for why Win 9x has probs with 512+Mb at Microsofts site ,I would post a link about it but I'n afraid I don't have time ,sorry:eek:

But yes Cacheman will allow Win 9x to use more than 512Mb of RAM :)
