Quick Launch Bar problem...

I went to hit the button on the quick launch bar which minimizes all windows...only to find that it has dissapeared. Now, in Help, it says that, in order to add a new icon to the quick launch bar, you can drag the icon onto it. However, I cannot seem to find another 'icon' which accomplishes this task. Any help would be appreciated. In addition, I tried deleting the quick launch bar, and then putting it back. This only served to move it over to the right side of my task bar, and now I cannot seem to get it back to the left side.

Thanks in advance for any help.

That's a good question, I have no idea how one is supposed to restore the Show Desktop quick launch icon. I tried looking on my WinXP CD but didn't find it.

I guess I could send you the icon and you could place it in your Explorer's quick launch directory. What's your email?

I would try doing a search for 'desktop'. Look in your main windows drive.... like C:\

I remembered finding it once before, I think in the Windows folder, not under any User folder.

In win98 it's under c:\windows\application data\microsoft\internet explorer\quick launch

In win2k c:\documents and settings\administrator (or under most users) \application data\microsoft explorer\quick launch

XP? probably the same as win2k.

To get the quick lauch bar back to the left side, move your mouse over the edge of the box, get the mouse arrow to change to sideways arrows, and drag it back to the other side.

Thank you very much. It worked perfectly!
