QUICK Kyro question

My friend just got a Kyro 4000XT.. and i installed the newest winxp drivers for the card, yet when i go to play Max Payne or such games the only acceleration supported is "Direct 3d Software"... why no "hardware" based support? or does the hard not even support it?

thanks

These options refer to the T&L options, Direct 3D Hardware is for boards that have a hardware T&L engine, Direct 3D Software is for boards without a hardware T&L engine(hence the software in the name, all T&L fuctions are carried out by the CPU). Since the Kyro doesn't have a hardware T&L engine you are only getting the direct 3D software option.

It's the same
one is carried by the cpu the other by the graphic card..

with a good cpu all present games will run flawlessly with kyro in software T&L.
