Quick iMac question

Quick question: On a new iMac, is it possible to turn off the monitor screen, while still leaving the machine running and doing stuff, and without putting it to sleep?

Yeah, go into System Preferences and click on Energy Saver. You can set your screen to sleep after X number of minutes, while the machine still runs. Just disable the Sleep slider above it (drag it all the way to the right so it says Never).

You can also hit Ctrl+Shift+Eject on the keyboard to turn off the display. Do it on my laptop all that time when I go to sleep
