quick help!!!!

running Quake 3 Arena, there are 3 of us wanting to play through ip connecting: me, my bro and friend Kev.

Kev is hosting the game at the different neighborhood.
My bro and I are in the same basement connected to a router (DLink Di 604)

I can connect to his game without any probs.. with ping rating of 20-30. But as soon as my bro enters the game, we experience some severe lag and says "connection interrupted"

Kev says it's because we need separate ip address but because my bro and I are connected to the same router, we're screwed. Is there anyway to change assign different ip# for both of our PCs or whatever it takes for us to play the game without any probs?

Each computer playing Q3 must use a different port number, starting at 27660 and incrementing by 1. You'll also need to do the following:

1. Right click on the Q3 icon
2. Choose "Properties"
3. In the Target field you'll see a line like "C:\Program Files\Quake III Arena\quake3.exe"
4. Add the Quake III net_port command to specify a unique communication port for each system. The complete field should look like this: "C:\Program Files\Quake III Arena\quake3.exe" +set net_port 27660
5. Click OK.
6. Repeat for each system behind the NAT, adding one to the net_port selected (27660,27661,27662)

You're welcome.
